Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)

PGDHRM is a diploma programme comprising of two semesters. There will be two batches - weekend & weekdays evening. Candidates who opt for weekend batch will have classes on weekends 8 hours a day & candidates who opt for weekdays batch will have classes on weekdays in the evening for 3 hours.This programme is meant for executives already working in HR/Administration function as well as those who aspire to work in HR function in near future. Role of Human Resource Function has become more critical than ever. The focus of managing human resources has shifted to a strategic orientation, with an emphasis on survival and growth of the business. The new Human Resource Professional is a consultant for the utilization,engagement and strategic positioning of human talent, to meet the business needs of the present as well as the future. An innovative curriculum has been designed to reflect this contemporary trend in Human Resource Management. By combining academic rigor with practical relevance, the program enables students to integrate core business competencies with interpersonal skills crucial to managing people.

The need of the hour is for business-savvy HR professionals who can speak the language of business and strategy, and be active participants in the process of strategic planning in the upper echelons of organizations.HR professionals need a holistic perspective of the organization and knowledge of other functional areas along with specialized HR knowledge. PGDHRM is designed to provide the skills required to manage and develop human capital in the national and international environment. The focus areas include Behaviour in Organizations,Strategic HRM, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management, Organization Development and Change, Training & Development, Labour Law and IR, Cross Cultural Management, International HRM.

Objectives of the programme:

  • To provide an opportunity of learning for those who cannot leave their present assignments to join course(s) of their interest on a regular basis due to their preoccupations in office, vocation or business but are seriously interested to learn the techniques of effective management of Human Resource Management
  • To facilitate study of theory and practice of Human Resource Management
  • To create trained and skilled manpower in the area of human resource management to meet the increasing demands of the industry in the expanding economy.
  • To prepare these future professionals for assuming a strategic role in helping organizations gain competitive advantage

On successful completion of the programm, the certificate of PGDHRM is awarded by Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

Eligibility

Graduate from any recognised University/ Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade.

Selection Procedure

  • There will be written test and Personal Interaction.
  • Written test will consist of English communication and multiple choice questions based on basic mathematics (data interpretation).

Timings and Venue

This program will be conducted at our Hinjewadi Campus on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 10 AM to 6 PM over a period on one year (2 semesters).

Award of Diploma

Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) will be awarded by Symbiosis International University to all successful students at the end of the academic year by taking into consideration the performance of both the semester examinations together. A detailed marks sheet will also be issued to each student after the end of each semester.
